A. Products verification procedure
i. APP installation
Before installing PHONEKEY RFID anti-counterfeiting App, we must check the mobile phone if it has NFC function or not. In the setting page of Android mobile phone, click “Wireless and Internet”button, if the mobile phone does has NFC function, there will be an NFC switch in the list, please turn on the NFC function before using PHONEKEY RFID anti-counterfeiting app.
Initialize Google Play Store and search PHONEKEY, it will reveal a correct icon, and then click “Install” to install the app.
ii. Reading verification code
The NFC antenna of mobile phone usually designed on the back cover. Initialized App and move the back cover close to PHONEKEY RIFD anti-counterfeiting label, after the mobile phone’s antenna provides energy to RFID label, the chip on the label will automatically generate a variable verification code back to mobile phone, each time reading the code are different, makes the counterfeiter cannot copy and duplicate.
iii. Execute verification
When the verification code reads, we can execute the verification code to send the code to global service center, and then forward to each Brand’s or manufacturer’s decoding center. Once the code decoded, the mobile phone will download the product related information, such as product name, manufacture date, batch and serial number. Each Brand can design customized information for consumer to read, it can increase more marketing and Branding opportunity, such as social media and event advertisements.
iv. Unpacking detection
The anti-counterfeiting label can collocate with products, we can place a circuit on a location of a package which is definitely open when using the product, so that after opening, we can detect the package is unpacking or not, furthermore, we can prevent recycling empty package to backfill counterfeit content. General tamper-proof, anti-counterfeit RFID label can only become unreadable after unpacking, as a result, it will make the RFID label no longer provides product information, ruined the opportunity for the Brand manufacturer to use labels to provide more services.
v. Reading labels without app
If the mobile phone does not install any NFC related app, there will be no reaction when reading. On the other hand, if the mobile phone installs some NFC tools, it will reveal that the label is ISO 15693 and its serial number.
B. Data flow
i. What kind of data can APP upload?
The APP can upload IP address to the Brand manufacturer’s decode center for big data analysis. Because not every device has phone number, so it will not send the phone number or other related data.
ii. How many information can place in a label? How to present the offline data?
The label can contain 92Bytes (23 Blocks * 4 Bytes free zone) data; the offline data presentation will depend on how the app defines the free zone data, so that means the manufacturers can define how the presentation look like by themselves.
iii. Is the information downloaded from cloud service or a built-in page inside the APP?
The basic icon and text is built-in inside the APP, and all the other information obtains after verification executing are downloaded from cloud service and presented in web form, such as Brand’s logo, website, product image, product information, marketing elements…etc.
iv. Does it must use in a internet connected circumstance, such as WiFi or mobile internet?
Yes, the device must connect to the internet. No matter it is 3G, 4G LTE or WiFi. We don’t have any plan to use USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data), and its speed only 9.6kbps, just for text message level.
v. The benefit of passive label. Will we develop active label?
The passive label does not need power supply, the cost would relatively lower than active ones. Unless there is a certain order, we will not develop active label at this moment.
